einfachElster offers you simple and clear user guidance for the paperless preparation of your tax return.

Electronic certificates such as pension payment notifications are available to the tax office and are automatically taken into account. You therefore do not need to enter them.

Prerequisites

einfachElster is available to you if you:
  • Domestic pension income or pensions received
  • and, if applicable, capital income (which is below the saver's allowance)
  • and possibly receive further income from a mini-job.

You will also need:

  • a domestic registration address and
  • a domestic bank account.

Registration

Go to www.einfach.elster.de
  • Tax identification number
    You will need your personal identification number to register. You will find it at the top left of the first page of your income tax assessment notice. Alternatively, you can request it at: www.identifikationsmerkmal.de
  • Date of birth
    Enter your date of birth.

After registering, you will receive a letter by post with your access number. Only then can you start your tax return.

Create a tax return

Go to www.einfach.elster.de and click on "Start now". Start entering your tax return.

Do you need?

  • tax identification number
  • Access number
  • Account details / IBAN
  • If applicable, tradesmen's invoices, disabled person's pass, medical bills, etc.
