System requirements

The ElsterAuthenticator is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux.
You need about 250 MB of free space on your hard drive. If you want to display your mailbox messages as a PDF, you will also need a program to display PDF files.


Notes

  • In MacOS, only the security stick G&D StarSign Crypto USB Token (S) can be used under MacOS 10.12. Unfortunately, due to technical reasons, older security sticks as well as signature cards cannot be supported.

Features

The ElsterAuthenticator is the interface between your security stick or your signature card and My ELSTER. If you use My ELSTER with your security stick or signature card, the ElsterAuthenticator must be started on your system at the same time.

The ElsterAuthenticator is used for:

  • Logging in for My ELSTER with your already registered security stick or your registered signature card
  • The registration of your security stick or your signature card at My ELSTER
  • Authenticated data transmission (sending a form)
  • Decrypting messages in your inbox
  • Loading saved drafts
  • The ELSTER-fit test
  • A change in the login option to security stick or signature card

Target group

The program ElsterAuthenticator is intended for all users of My ELSTER who work with the login options Security Stick or Signature Card.
