What you can do with ELSTER without a tax number

Only use identification by e-mail if the tax office has not yet assigned a tax number to you or your organization.
You only have the option of submitting a tax registration questionnaire. It is not possible to submit tax returns.
You cannot use the Login with ELSTER for other eGovernment services.
You only need an e-mail address and the creation of your user account can be completed immediately (without sending a letter).
As soon as the tax office has assigned you a tax number, you can activate all the functions of a fully-fledged user account.
