Tax profiles
Under short name, you can enter a freely selectable string (up to 8 characters). The short name serves to facilitate the distinction of tax profiles.
Tax profiles with tax number
Natural persons enter their 11-digit identification number in the corresponding input fields of the form. This is the tax identification feature according to § 139b of the Tax Code.
The tax number has been assigned and communicated to you by the Federal Central Tax Office. If you have not yet been given a tax number, you can enquire about and / or request it from the Federal Central Tax Office via email.
Tax profiles with VAT identification number
Please enter the VAT number you have been given by the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) in the field.
The short name is used to make it easier to distinguish between tax profiles with value-added tax identification numbers. The valid format requires at least one alphanumeric character (number or capital letter), followed by up to a maximum of seven further characters (numbers, capital letters, “-” “.” and “_”).
VAT refund profiles
Please enter the VAT ID No. assigned to you by the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) in this field.
Individuals enter their 11-digit identification number in the relevant input fields of the form. This number is an identifier for tax purposes pursuant to Section 139b German Fiscal Code.
The Federal Central Tax Office has notified you of the tax number allocated to you. If a tax number has not been allocated to you yet, please contact the Federal Central Tax Office by email and/or apply for a tax number.
The short name is used to make it easier to distinguish between VAT refund profiles. The valid format requires at least one alphanumeric character (number or capital letter), followed by up to a maximum of seven further characters (numbers, capital letters, “-” “.” and “_”).
Company profiles
Please enter the VAT number you have been given by the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) in the field.
Tax profiles with tax numbers of the BZSt
The Federal Central Tax Office issues tax numbers for your tax returns for insurance tax according to § 8 VersStG and for your tax registrations for fire brigade tax according to § 8 FeuerschStG.
The tax number of the BZSt has been assigned and communicated to you by the Federal Central Tax Office. If you have not yet been given a tax number, you can ask for and / or apply for it at the Federal Central Tax Office.

If you need the tax number for fire brigade tax purposes, please send your Email to feuerschutzsteuer@bzst.bund.de.
Profiles with international ID of the Financial Institution
The short name serves to differentiate GIIN-profiles. The format for creating short names expects at least one alphanumeric character followed by up to seven additional characters (numbers, capital letters, "-", "." and "_").
In this element, the SendingCompanyIN (GIIN of the data sender) must be entered.
The Global Intermediary Identifying Number (GIIN) identifies a financial institution. It is assigned by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States of America (IRS).
The entry for the GIIN (XXXXXX.XXXXX.YY.ZZZ) is expected as follows
- exactly 11 alphanumeric characters are permitted for X (excluding the letter "O"), separated by a period (.)
- exactly 2 capital letters are permitted for Y
- Z refers to the Country Identifier of the financial institution and is expected to be "276" for Germany.
If the data sender does not have a GIIN, the FIN must be entered.
Profiles with CRS identification number of the reporting financial institution
The short name serves to differentiate CRS-profiles. The format for creating short names expects at least one alphanumeric character (number or capital letter) followed by up to seven additional characters (numbers, capital letters, "-", "." and "_").
